The Index Building Tops Out

Halvorson and Partners is proud to announce the topping out of the Index Building in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The Index is the most recently completed building—and tallest to date—in a series of innovative towers developed in collaboration between Foster + Partners and Halvorson and Partners.
Numerous structural concepts were explored before selecting the clear, architecturally expressed scheme for this 80-story, 331 m (1085 ft) tall mixed-use tower. Six major ‘fins’ carry the weight of the entire tower and resist all wind loads—their tapering form is a direct response to the need for increased area and breadth at the building base
