CAF 2009 Patron of the Year Award: Loyola's Info Commons and ECD's theWit

This yearly awards event focuses on the Patrons of outstanding architecture - as it considers the client’s contribution to a project alongside a project’s design merit.
Loyola University of Chicago was awarded as one of two winners in the Institutional catgory, for the Richard J. Klarchek Information Commons. They comissioned this digital library and worked closely with the design team lead by SCB to efficiently integrate significant energy saving measures in this stunning structure on the banks of Lake Michigan.
And ECD Company and Koo Associates were one of four honorable mention recipients for theWit hotel - citing the strength and relationship between the patron and architect.
Partner Greg Lakota structured both of these award winners, and continues to team on a number of the ventures with Loyola and SCB, and also ECD and Koo.
