Artist Jaume Plensa’s vision was realized through the collaboration of many, including 1000 local face ‘models’, and has become a new Chicago icon. With the focus on the 55 foot LED screen images, lighting and water washing the glass block façade—the structural scheme was carefully configured with design architect Krueck and Sexton to visually integrate with the fountain’s intricate systems. HP also designed the support system to transfer the loads of the towers and the reflecting pool to an existing underground parking structure.
