VietinBank Business Center
Hanoi, Vietnam
Mixed-use
in design
A striking pair of landmark towers anchor the new VietinBank Business Center – a 300,000 square meter mixed-use development in Hanoi designed in collaboration with Foster + Partners. The 68-story, 365 meter office tower will be home to VietinBank, one of Vietnam’s largest banking groups, and the 48-story, 225 meter tower will house a five-star hotel, spa and serviced apartments. The slender office tower’s hybrid structure responds to its distinct form. Concrete cores at the three corners of its triangular plan are linked by steel bracing surrounding the full-height central atrium and by steel perimeter transfer trusses above 4-story sky gardens, creating dramatic 50 meter column-free exterior vistas. The hotel tower has a similar triangular plan. Its full height ‘green spine’ along one perimeter face creates 32 meter wide exterior wall spans, with space frames designed by H+P to integrate in the saw tooth wall profile for glass and solar panels. The two towers are linked by an 8-story podium, with below grade parking for over 5,000 cars and motorbikes.
