Dubai Pedestrian Bridges - Gateway Bridge

Sweeping to its highest point 100 meters above the water, the Gateway bridge will provide visitors with two unique experiences in crossing the Creek — one as a passenger encircling its edges, another as a pedestrian walking over a shaded deck. H+P worked closely with Foster + Partners to structure this competition winning, experiential form. The elegant result: a pair of splayed, 100-meter tall arches spanning 140 meters and holding the guide rail for transport pods, with a series of linking cables also supporting the pedestrian bridge below. The natural outward thrust of these main arches is counteracted by tensions in the diagonal cables, which, at the inner arch level, meet with the vertical cables that carry the deck directly below.
