A five-story addition to the Kellogg Graduate School of Business required a detailed study of the existing structure to design and integrate the new construction. Loads from the addition were channeled to existing elements that had sufficient capacity. New composite floor framing was used with diagonal bracing and moment connected frames for lateral stability. A special cantilevered construction supports the courtyard façade.
