This three-story, LEED Silver certified, 175,000 sf mixed-use community center was designed to serve Chicago’s LGBT community. The facility includes offices and meeting space, a gymnasium, a theater, a Whole Foods supermarket with parking underground and a rooftop garden. The complex structure combines a reinforced concrete frame in the retail and parking areas, with long-span steel framing in the theater and gymnasium facilities.
