The dramatic, curved configuration of this pair of 6-story, LEED Gold offices presented an ideal opportunity for the emerging practice of electronic data interchange. Halvorson and Partners created a 3-D model for analysis, precisely representing the steel structure’s complex geometry, with the intent that this data could be transferred to the fabricator, streamlining standard detailing practice. The curved geometry was economically accommodated by gradually rotating each bay of steel framing; the curved façade is supported with faceted, perimeter steel. All lateral bracing is set within the central core, allowing unobstructed office lease spans of up to 45 feet.
