The Montgomery Wards Catalog Building, originally constructed in 1917, is the largest building, in terms of floor plate size, in Chicago. The conversion of this facility for commercial, parking and residential use involved an extensive amount of structural design work including the addition of two new stories, removal of several major building columns and the creation of a new river walk on the building’s west elevation.
