This 77,000 square foot facility will house offices, conference rooms, lockers, and training and practice facilities for all athletic teams at Loyola University. H+P designed an efficient composite structure - carefully integrating it with the contiguous existing Gentile Center basketball arena.
For this fast paced project, Halvorson and Partners utilized Revit Structure for internal coordination. 3D PDFs of the Revit model were generated and help to communicate the design intent with other members of the design team. This was especially helpful at the 17 foot deep truss coordinated over the adjacent, existing structure. Additionally, a model of the existing Gentile Center was create, which, when overlaid with the model of the new structure, checks for spacial conflicts.
