The architectural concept for this three-story office building—which has many different planes in the exterior facade formed by cantilevers that increase in dimension on the upper floors — presented challenges in the efficient structural design of this project. A structural steel solution was developed to support the cantilevers while reducing the number of field welded connections. Lateral stiffness for the building was achieved through braced frames hidden in the cores. Diagonal bracing eliminated the need for additional moment connections while providing uninterrupted space and tenant flexibility.
